St Peters Lutheran College is a Co-Educational Day and Boarding School of the Lutheran Church located on 52 acres just 7 kilometres from Brisbane CBD. Established in 1945, St Peters has developed an enviable reputation in academic scholarship, pastoral care, and breadth of co-curricular programs, through which it seeks to provide an exceptional student experience. Together, academic staff and corporate staff provide an outstanding educational environment for students to grow and flourish.
Starting in January 2027, we are seeking to engage a Primary Years Teacher on a Full Time Permanent basis to join our dynamic and engaging Primary Years team, working towards creating positive pathways for students.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Primary Years curriculum and the College's teaching framework.
- Identify diverse learning needs and plan experiences that enable all students to achieve success.
- Assess and provide both positive and critical feedback that monitors progress and gives clear, actionable steps for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting to be able to provide students and parents with detail and informative written and oral reports.
- Support wellbeing and manage behaviour by building rapport, maintaining an orderly classroom, and following up concerns in line with policy.
- Contribute to the College community and professional practice through teamwork, cocurricular involvement, administration, supervision and ongoing development.
What You Bring
- A relevant Graduate Teaching qualification and current Queensland Teacher Registration.
- Comprehensive knowledge of curriculum development and implementation, and contemporary educational issues.
- Proven classroom teaching capability, including effective planning, delivery, classroom management, assessment and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly developed organisational and time management skills.
- Commitment to the College’s Christian ethos and values.
